You have a ready power supply on hand, no matter what batteries you choose. A battery tray is housed inside the unit which holds a NiCad battery (included with radio) or six AA-size Alkaline cells.

It's designed to be watertight. Controls are located on the front panel for one-hand easy access. Features a high impact, non-corrosive case and water-resistant gasketing for superior moisture protection. Additionally, internal circuitry is coated with the exclusive water-impervious HumiSeal®.

Huge LCD displays the current channel in use and operational data, backlit for night-time operation. Also features programmable scanning of all U.S., Canadian and international channels or any combination. Direct access to 10 weather stations. There is also one-button access to channel 9, , as well as emergency channel 16. Has 20 expansion channel capability, ready for use upon FCC allocation.

The Weather Alert function automatically monitors your local weather channel and interrupts scanning to bring you the latest advisories from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
